Pactivo and the alternatives, compared fairly.
Every comparison is taken from the other vendor’s own public pages, dated, with links, and says where they are the better choice.
Pactivo is e-signature software for UK regulated firms, such as accountants, legal firms and property and immigration practices. It charges per envelope with no per-user fees, sends every signer a one-time passcode by email, seals each completed document with a tamper-evident audit trail, and stores data in the UK. If you are choosing between tools, start with the comparison for the one you are looking at below, then use the four questions further down to check any tool against your own needs.
Pactivo vs DocuSign for UK firms: per-envelope vs per-user pricing, signer passcodes, ID checks, sealed evidence and UK data residency, from DocuSign's own UK pages.
Pactivo vs Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign) for UK firms: per-envelope vs per-user pricing, signer checks, sealed evidence and UK data residency, from Dropbox's own pages.
Pactivo vs Adobe Acrobat Sign for UK firms: per-envelope pricing vs Acrobat licences, signer checks, sealed evidence and UK data residency, from Adobe's own UK pages.
Pactivo vs Signable for UK firms: per-envelope prices, SMS vs email passcodes, AES, sealed evidence and UK data storage, from Signable's own pages.
What to compare
Per user per month, or per document sent. Per-user plans suit a few people sending a lot; per-envelope pricing suits firms where many people send occasionally.
An email link alone proves little. A one-time passcode proves control of the inbox; an identity check proves who the person is.
Look for an audit trail that cannot be edited afterwards, a digitally sealed PDF with a trusted timestamp, and a way for anyone to check the result.
For UK regulated firms, ask whether documents are stored in the UK, and on which plan.
